I no longer wait
for a prince to come
I no longer hate
for I feel numb
I no longer smile
to go an extra mile
I no longer hope
or mope.
I redefine
my life,
my strife

Place your hope
anywhere, but in persons
people only mope
their hope only worsens
I've come this far
with a smile on my lips
life's been a bizarre
a smile now on my hips
walking towards the unknown
attempts to be prudent
my desire to hone
my life, I was hidden
I wept in despair
for hopes were in people
Life seemed unfair
I felt like a cripple
place your heart
in a desire or goal
Do stay apart
from who stains your soul.

I haven't changed,
I am the same.
the same smile
the same love
the same embracing heart
perhaps matured more,
but I am the same

I cry more easily
when I watch movies
I might have seen more sad events,
but I am me, the same person
you knew yesterday.
I give you the same smile
I see you with the same eyes
no distortion, no hatred
I only see you with love.
